The leader of the BC Liberals doesn’t expect John Horgan to campaign much in the Thompson, Nicola or the Okanagan.
Speaking on the NL Morning News, Andrew Wilkinson says it is because the NDP are ‘afraid’ to face the people living in communities in those areas.
“John Horgan has refused to show his face in those communities because the people of Vavenby and Chasm, and Williams Lake are fed up to the back teeth with the NDP neglect of their communities,” he said.
“We’ll be surprised to see them in the Cariboo because there are more than a dozen mills that have shut down from Kelowna right up to Mackenzie all through Highway 97, all through the Cariboo and the Central Interior. And that is because of NDP policy.”
As for when we might see the Liberal leader in Kamloops or Merritt?
“As a matter of fact, I am driving up tomorrow,” Wilkinson said, but it is unclear if he will be doing a media event.
Heading into this election, all ridings in the Central and Southern Interior – including two in Kamloops – were held by the BC Liberals, with the exception of two in the Kootenays held by the NDP.
