Kamloops RCMP have a suspect in custody after reports of gunshots fired in the area of Willow Street on the North Shore yesterday evening.

In a statement, Staff Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says police responded around 5:15 p.m. and found a house that was damaged with by an apparent gun shot.

“The residence was occupied at the time and it was confirmed no one was injured,” he said, noting a suspect was identified and then arrested this morning at a house in Dallas.

“With the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, a [man] was safely taken into custody. Based on the police investigation thus far it is believed that the residence was targeted.”

Fesenko says the investigation is ongoing and he is asking anyone with any information to contact the Kamloops RCMP.
