Interior Health says access to Ponderosa Lodge from Fourth Avenue will be temporarily closed for a week starting this Wednesday, Oct. 7 until Oct. 14.
It is to allow for the ongoing construction at the Royal Inland Hospital with crews from EllisDon and BC Hydro completing electrical work on the new Patient Care Tower.
Anyone hoping to access Ponderosa Lodge will need to use a detour at Fifth Avenue and Columbia Street. Road signs will be posted and a traffic control flagger will be in place to direct vehicles.
IHA says the closure will not impact pedestrian traffic crossing Fourth Avenue.
While work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day, the entrance will be closed 24 hours a day.
