Forecasters are calling for snow and temperatures about 10 degrees below normal in the Kamloops area this weekend.
Environment Canada says snowfall will start Friday afternoon in the Kamloops region when an Arctic air mass moves in, and two-to-10 centimetres of snow will fall in places around Kamloops.
It says the arctic air will stick around for the weekend although the snow will be gone by Saturday.
A special weather statement is now in effect for the Coquihalla from Hope to Kamloops, for the Okanagan Connector east of Merritt, and for Highway 97 from Clinton to 100 Mile House.
Right now, forecasters are calling for a chance of snow in Kamloops on Thursday night and Friday during the day, with lows of minus-five, minus-seven and minus-five, respectively, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
