A woman has been arrested after a police pursuit that stretched through the Shuswap this morning.
Southeast District RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the incident started in Chase at 12:15 a.m., when someone reported a newer Ford F-350 pickup driving erratically.
Half an hour later, police spotted the truck in Tappen, just west of Salmon Arm, and O’Donaghey says the driver fled when police tried to pull the truck over.
At 1:30 a.m., O’Donaghey says police laid down a spike belt in Revelstoke and say the vehicle eventually stopped just east of town.
A 28-year-old woman from Red Deer was arrested and later released. Her identity has not been provided but O’Donaghey says she will be facing “a number of new charges.”
