One person was airlifted to hospital after a crash between a semi and a car on the Coquihalla near the Inks Lake Road.

Drive BC says the southbound lanes of the highway is closed right now with no detour in place.

BC EHS says paramedics cared for one person in critical condition before they were taken to hospital. The identity of the person was not immediately available.

The incident is being assessed and as of publishing, there was no estimated time as to when the highway might reopen.

Drive BC says one lane of traffic is open though there could be delays due to congestion. Further south, a snowfall warning has been issued for the Hope to Merritt section of the Coquihalla with up to 25 cm of snow possible tonight into Friday evening.
