CN Rail says one of its trains derailed overnight last night in the Fraser Canyon.
It happened near North Bend, across the Fraser River from Boston Bar, where seven empty grain cars derailed.
A statement from CN says there is no danger to public safety, and that there were no leaks, fires, or dangerous goods spilled, and says no train cars went into the river.
CN also says no one was hurt from the derailment.
It also says rail operations have returned to normal today, and says crews will be removing railcars from the site in the days ahead.
“CN would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by this incident, and thank local first responders for their assistance and support,” the statement adds.
The cause of the derailment is still being investigated.
