
The public is being warned about a COVID-19 exposure on a flight out of the Kamloops Airport last week.
The exposure was the Dec. 8 Air Canada Jazz flight 8195 from Kamloops to Vancouver.
The BC Centre for Disease Control says people sitting between rows 3-to-9 are at risk of exposure. Those people are asked to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have now been seven flights in or out of Kamloops with an exposure of COVID-19. Six of those have been reported in the past three months.
The Interior Health Authority has seen a significant spike in cases of COVID-19 in the past six weeks.
On Nov. 3, there were 788 total cases in the IHA and 95 active cases, with no people in hospital. As of yesterday, there are now 2,851 total cases, including 837 active cases and 28 people in hospital, with six of those people in intensive care.
