A 2,850-pound jade boulder stolen from the front of a Cache Creek gift shop last week has been found.
Ashcroft RCMP saying they have identified suspects although no arrests have been made yet.
The store says the massive rock was found by “an alert Good Samaritan,” who recognized it after seeing reports that it was missing. Store staff say it is in one piece, with “a few scars from its adventure.”
The boulder, worth up to $50,000, was loaded by thieves on the back of a flatbed truck on Dec 19. The truck and flatbed trailer were found near Kamloops but the excavator used in the robbery was still missing.
The boulder has been in front of Cariboo Jade and Gifts since 1985.
Police are expected to provide more information today. NL News will update this story when more information is available.
