Kamloops RCMP say a significant police presence in Valleyview was caused by a stolen vehicle, which struck a police cruiser before fleeing the scene.
Police first noticed the stolen vehicle, a green Subaru, at about 12:30 p.m., in Valleyview on Frontage Road next to the Trans-Canada Highway.
Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says officers tried to pull over the Subaru, but says it struck an RCMP vehicle at a high speed before fleeing. Fesenko says the officer was not hurt and says there was minor damage to the police cruiser.
Not long after, the vehicle was found at a home on Klahanie Drive in Barnhartvale, where it was towed away.
Meanwhile, police also noticed a second stolen vehicle in Valleyview and tried to stop it, but that vehicle also fled.
Anyone with information , or dashcam footage, that may help link a suspect to either of the stolen vehicles, is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
