Kamloops RCMP say a police scene in Valleyview yesterday led to a massive seizure of five kilograms of drugs, three guns, and an substantial amount of money.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says Mounties and the Southeast District Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a west Valleyview home around 10:30 a.m. as part of an two month long drug investigation.
“The investigation that began in November led them to the Valleyview residential unit,” she told NL News. “From there, going to that location and some of the information they came across at that location, led them to two other locations as well.”
Those other locations were a property in Sun Rivers and a storage locker on Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc.
“Five kilograms of drugs is a lot. That’s suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl,” Evelyn added. “It’s really great to be able to prevent that from going out into the public and to get those firearms seized by police. Again, all of these things will be tested as part of the investigation but that’s a lot of drugs.”
She also says one person was arrested but then released without conditions or a court date as part of the investigation which is ongoing.
