Police arrested a man in downtown Kamloops this morning after reports that he was armed.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says Mounties were called to the 100-block of Victoria Street at 4:30 a.m.
“Frontline officers attended the address, located a man matching the description provided, and seized a firearm nearby,” Evelyn says, although further details of the situation are unclear.
Evelyn says the suspect also had an outstanding arrest warrant for theft under $5,000.
He is now in custody awaiting a court date, and firearm offenses may also come forward from this morning’s incident.
