RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating after a Kamloops man died in hospital hours after he was pulled from the South Thompson River on Saturday morning.
Police, firefighters, and BC EHS all responded to the 1800 block of Kelly Douglas Road in Valleyview, just after 11:30 a.m., with police noting that the man was not moving after he had been in the water for 15 minutes.
RCMP Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the man was found lying face up with his lower body in the river. He was taken to hospital in Kamloops and then Kelowna, where he died later that night.
At this time, the death is not believed to be suspicious.
And police note the man’s name will not be released.
