
B.C. has reported another 485 cases of COVID-19 today, as well as four deaths.
In Interior Health, there were 83 new cases today as well as two new deaths – both at the Noric House long-term care home in Vernon.
The health authority also reported a new community cluster in Fernie where 81 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since New Year’s Day. As of now, 61 of those cases are active.
It is one of two large-scale community clusters within IH. As of yesterday, the cluster in the Cariboo-Chilcotin local health area had 314 cases since Jan. 1, and 150 were active.
In Kamloops, the outbreak at Royal Inland Hospital has grown to 66 total cases and one death, while the outbreak at the Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre remains unchanged with 23 active cases – 16 residents and seven staff – and two deaths.
Province-wide, there are now 4,299 active cases, with 303 people in hospital and 74 in intensive care. In the Interior, there are 1,008 active cases, which is up from 985 on Tuesday. There are also 48 people in hospital and 16 people in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the province has administered 124,365 vaccine doses against COVID-19, and it says 4,160 of those are second doses.
