There have been three COVID-19 exposures reported at Sa-Hali Secondary in Kamloops over the last two weeks.
Two members of the school community tested positive this week and both people are self-isolating at home.
Principal Rachael Sdoutz sent parents a letter around 8 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 28 about an exposure at the school on Monday and Tuesday of this week, Jan. 25 and 26. This letter was in addition to another one Sdoutz sent to parents around 3 p.m. yesterday, about another exposure on Jan. 25.
The first exposure at Sa-Hali Secondary was on three days last week, Jan. 18 to 20.
Parents at Aberdeen Elementary were also sent a letter from Principal Tanya Rogers after an exposure at the school last Friday, Jan. 22.
In each of these cases, parents have been assured that contact tracing to find potential close contacts is underway, and that it is safe for their children to go to school as normal, if they don’t hear from Interior Health.
If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
There have now been COVID-19 exposures reported at 15 schools across the School District 73 this school year – and twelve schools have seen exposures this semester.
As of publishing, Interior Health says there are active exposures at Marion Schilling Elementary, Sa-Hali Secondary, Valleyview Secondary, Summit Elementary, Beattie Elementary, NorKam Secondary, and Aberdeen Elementary.
