The BC CDC says there was a possible exposure of COVID-19 on a WestJet flight into Kamloops after someone onboard tested positive for the virus.
Passengers who were on WestJet flight 3111 from Calgary on Jan. 26 are being asked to monitor for symptoms and get tested for COVID-19 if symptoms like a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or a loss of sense of taste or smell begin to develop.
It is unclear when this person tested positive for COVID-19, and no affected rows have been reported at this time.
You can take the COVID-19 self assessment test here. To book a test, you’re asked to call your primary care provider or the closest Interior Health community testing and assessment centre.
This is the tenth flight overall in or out of Kamloops that has had an exposure reported.
British Columbians have been told to avoid non-essential travel and social gatherings with people outside of their household after restrictions were put in place on Nov. 19. The restrictions are set to expire this Friday, but Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, teased that more more details will be coming that day.
You’ll find a full list of all domestic travel-related COVID-19 exposures on the BC CDC website.
