Kamloops RCMP confirm they are investigating three separate instances where someone allegedly put nails behind vehicle tires in a parking lot near Ponderosa Lodge downtown.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the first incident was reported to police on Oct. 19 of last year, with other reports coming in November and again on Jan. 22.
“What we would just like to encourage people too is if anybody does have any information on this file, or you know, they might have been a victim and they haven’t reported it yet, to please just contact the Kamloops RCMP,” she told NL News.
Evelyn says police have a person of interest who was spotted on surveillance video after the October incident. He’s only described as a man with a limp who approached a vehicle in the area. At the time, he was wearing dark clothes with a white stripe.
Further, after the November incident, Evelyn says police questioned two people who were sitting nearby but both denied any involvement or knowledge of the incident.
According to reports online, there have been many more such incidents near the Ponderosa Lodge, though Evelyn says at this time, police have only been made aware of the three mentioned above.
