A Kamloops woman was caught, released, and caught again for two different incidents on the weekend, which includes alleged assaults on a police officer and a security guard.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the woman was arrested the first time on Friday night at about 10 p.m., after a report of a disturbance on Sicamore Drive in Westsyde. Police went to a home and spoke with occupants before leaving, but were called again after reports of a woman screaming and throwing various items. She was taken to a holding cell to sober up.
Evelyn says on Sunday morning, at about 11:30 a.m., police were called to the 300-block of Columbia Street downtown when a security guard was apparently punched several times by a woman, who got in a vehicle and sped off afterwards. She says police found the suspect vehicle and arrested its driver, and says the woman kicked an officer in the head and damaged equipment while in the back of the police cruiser.
Police are continuing to investigate and Evelyn says charges could be recommended.
