Kamloops RCMP say one of the people on their most wanted list was arrested in Vancouver early yesterday morning.
Police say Robert James Rennie, 33, was arrested by Vancouver Police during a traffic stop around 2:20 a.m. He was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant out of Kamloops for armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement, stemming from a 2019 Valentine’s Day investigation involving four victims.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says Rennie was one of three men arrested as part of the investigation.
She says the other two men – Michael Mathieson and Justin Daniels – have since been sentenced; Mathieson to 6.5 years in prison, and Daniels to 7.5 years. Rennie who was granted bail had been on the run since he fled from a halfway house last April.
Evelyn says he remains in custody with court appearance set for March 11.
