B.C.’s Premier is welcoming Health Canada approving the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
John Horgan says having this, and now AstraZeneca’s vaccine approved, will help diversify the province’s vaccination plan.
“And we’ll have more to say about that in the days and weeks ahead,” Horgan says.
“It’s good news to have more opportunities. But our focus is to make sure the Moderna and Pfizer products, that we have coming in larger numbers this month, next month and the month after, are deployed as effectively as possible.”
Canada has ordered 10 million doses of Johnson and Johnson’s vaccine. That inoculation requires only one dose, when others approved in Canada require two.
It will likely be several months before any of those doses arrive here from the U.S.
