A COVID-19 exposure has been reported at Brock Middle School as well as at Kamloops Christian School in Kamloops.
According to Interior Health, the exposure at Brock Middle School was on three days last week – Mar. 1, 2, and 5 while the exposure at Kamloops Christian School was on Mar. 1.
It now means there are now twelve active school exposures in the Kamloops area, ten among schools run by the Kamloops-Thompson School District.
The exposures in Kamloops are at NorKam, South Kamloops, and Valleyview secondary schools as well as Beattie, Arthur Stevenson, and Kay Bingham elementary schools, along with the Kamloops School of the Arts.
There are also exposures at Chase Secondary and Savona Elementary. The Sk’elep School of Excellence on the Tk’emlups reserve also reported an exposure last week.
Exposures have also been reported at Merritt Secondary and Collettville Elementary in Merritt in the Nicola-Similkameen School District.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not believed to be at risk of developing COVID-19. If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
After 14 days without any further cases, exposures are no longer considered active by Interior Health.
