If you’re a veterinarian, or know one who’s looking for a change, there’s a job opening up in Clearwater.
Mayor of Clearwater, Merlin Blackwell, was on the NL Morning News and said the current vet has been great but he and his wife have decided to hang it up.
“Talking to Darren Ludbrook and his wife, Linda, they’ve been an awesome couple, they’ve been so supportive in this community but they’re burned out and they need a break so they’re going to retire off for now, in June,” Blackwell said.
He says the area has demand for there to be more than one veterinarian.
“Some of the equestrian people are working on the recruitment file on that one for us. We need a new vet, would could probably use two, I’m quite sure we could use a large animal and a small animal vet up this way,” Blackwell added.
He says the long time vet found the Clearwater area to be unique compared to the other places he’s worked.
“I’m talking to Darren and he’s like, ‘I’ve never worked in a place where people have so many animals per household.’ He said ‘this is crazy’. So, the works definitely there if somebody out there knows a vet that’s looking for a place with all the amenities of Clearwater, nice active outdoor lifestyle and a good work load, give me a call.”
Blackwell says one thing people from Clearwater and North Thompson Valley love is having lots of animals.
