A Kamloops man has been charged after allegedly holding a woman against her will inside a home.
Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says Kamloops RCMP were called just before 5:30 a.m. last Thursday, March 11, to a home in the downtown core, where a man was reportedly armed outside of a home.
O’Donaghey says police learned afterwards that the woman who call 9-1-1 was inside the home, and had fled there from another location.
The victim was located and assessed by ambulance crews, before being taken to hospital with unknown injuries, according to O’Donaghey.
A suspect was arrested near that scene and taken into custody.
Fifty-nine-year-old David Norman Myales has now been charged with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, as well as other charges.
Myales remains in custody and was expected to appear in Kamloops court this afternoon.
O’Donaghey is also asking anyone to call Kamloops RCMP if they noticed any suspicious activity around the Kings Motor Inn, located at 1775 East Trans-Canada Highway in Valleyview, between the dates of March 2 and March 10.
