Two Kamloops elementary schools are reporting potential COVID-19 exposures today.
Interior Health says the exposure events at Dufferin Elementary and Westmount Elementary happened on March 10 and 12 respectively, before kids went off on spring break.
Kids are back in class today after a week off, and these are the only two active exposures in the area at this time.
SD73 Superintendent Terry Sullivan said he was concerned about cases increasing after spring break, as there was an increase when students returned to class after the winter break.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not believed to be at risk of developing COVID-19.
If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
