Police in Kamloops are investigating a video of a security guard apparently assaulting a man, after the guard was allegedly spat on by that person.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to a reported assault a week ago, on March 17, at 5:15 p.m. at 40 Victoria Street West, which is the storage facility for street-affected individuals.
“At the time, police were informed that a security guard had been spat at and pushed by an unknown man, resulting in the guard taking physical action,” Evelyn said.
She says officers spoke to people at the scene, saying the man who allegedly spat on the guard before the alleged assault was not located.
Evelyn says police reviewed new video evidence yesterday from the altercation and have identified the man who was being kicked on the ground. She says Mounties are hoping to find him and speak to him.
Ed Lapierre owns Lapper Entertainment and Security says it was one of his guards who was involved. He tells NL News that cell phone clip doesn’t tell the whole story.
