Kamloops RCMP arrested a teenager over the weekend for allegedly throwing a rock at somebody in Pineview Valley.
Const. Crystal Evelyn the incident was reported on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., in the 1500-block of Versatile Drive. Details on any injuries were not provided.
Evelyn says a suspect was found and arrested, and was later released with a court date. It’s unclear if charges will be laid.
That was one of about 355 calls to service for Kamloops Mounties over the weekend, according to Evelyn.
Man Arrested after Assault at Westsyde Home
On Friday morning, police in Kamloops arrested a 30-year-old man after reports of an assault at a Westsyde home.
Evelyn says Mounties were called at 6 a.m. on Friday, to a home in the 3000-block of Bank Road.
She says police then went to the suspect’s home and arrested him. That man was later released with a court date, and at this point charges have not been laid.
Mounties Seize Hatchet after Fight in Westsyde
A hatchet was seized by police after being called to a “disturbance involving weapons” at a Westsyde home early Sunday morning.
Evelyn says police responded just after midnight to the 2000-block of Beachmount Crescent, after calls to police said someone was yelling “gun” and “put the weapon down.”
Evelyn says a group of people were detained in a vehicle, who were trying to leave the home when police showed up. She says all people in the vehicle denied owning a hatchet that was found on the front lawn.
No charges were laid as a result of the incident, as Evelyn says police determined the scene was a “consensual fight” and that no firearms were at the scene.
“Unwanted Person” Arrested Outside of Valleyview Business
A 45-year-old Kamloops man has a court date scheduled, after being arrested during an “unwanted person” call to police.
Evelyn says Mounties responded on Friday at 9 a.m. to the 2100-block of the East Trans-Canada Highway. Police arrived and found a man nearby who was taken into custody and later released. That man had an arrest warrant for an incident in Cranbrook.
Stacey Dean Willard now has a court date set up in May.
