
A man has been arrested today after police used to spike belt to stop a stolen motorhome on Highway 97C, just south of Logan Lake.
Merritt RCMP spokesperson, Sgt. Josh Roda, says police in Logan Lake were called earlier today about a suspicious vehicle in the library parking lot on Chartrand Avenue, where a man sitting inside.
Roda says the vehicle took off when Mounties tried to stop it, and the vehicle was deemed stolen shortly after.
Police then tracked the vehicle and its driver to a home in the 8500-block of Highway 97C, where the suspect had broken into the home and stole a motorhome before driving south towards Merritt.
Roda says the motorhome was eventually stopped at a commercial property near the 2600-block of Highway 97C. The driver was arrested and charges are now being recommended.
