The BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops expects there will still be bus tours at the park this summer, though not like years past.
General Manager Glenn Grant says tour bus operators have told him they’re booking tours for this season that would bring visitors to the BC Wildlife Park in smaller buses.
“So normally, a bus would come with 50 passengers and the ones that we have booked right now are looking at 32. They did tell us up front that we may be cancelling these. We like to book them now, but we may be cancelling them based on travel restrictions and COVID restrictions,” Grant says.
“We do have some travel buses that have booked through the summer but not a lot and they’re anticipating that they may have to cancel. But they are still planning as trying to get to some kind of activity.”
International travellers make up a large part of demand for tour busses, Grant has said previously.
Grant is expecting a “fairly busy summer” at the park after a challenging year in 2020. Staff are planning for a normal year, but Grant notes they will make adjustments as needed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
