
B.C. has reported another daily record for new COVID-19 cases, and this time by a longshot.
There were 1,293 new cases today, which is well above the previous high of 1,068 set just two days ago. There were also two deaths from the virus reported today.
In Interior Health there were 80 new cases today. Elsewhere, there were 645 in Fraser Health, 448 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 69 in Island Health and 51 in Northern Health.
Province-wide, there are now 336 people in hospital with the virus and 101 people in intensive care units who are infectious. There are now 9,184 active cases, and a record 15,203 other people are in self-isolation after coming in contact with someone who had the virus.
There was good news; the province has administered a record 38,905 vaccine doses in the past day. That brings the total number of doses distributed to 985,001.
