A high school teacher in 100 Mile House was arrested on his way to work yesterday as part of a child exploitation investigation.
Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet says the allegations involve an underage girl, and RCMP learned about the situation on Wednesday night. A teacher who works at Peter Skene Secondary School was then arrested Thursday morning.
“We have been closely engaged with the school administration and School District 27 who is supporting our investigation,” Staff Sgt. Svend Nielsen says, the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment commander.
Thirty-three-year-old Vincent Collins, of 108 Mile Ranch, has been charged with one count of child exploitation. He remains in custody.
Mounties are also asking anyone who may have more information about the allegations to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456, and reference file number 2021-1154.
