There were 1,262 new COVID-19 cases in the province.
It’s not a record, but it’s not far off from the record 1,293 new cases reported yesterday.
In Interior Health, there were 130 new cases. Elsewhere, there were 638 new cases in Fraser Health, 358 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 79 in Northern Health and 54 in Island Health.
There were also two deaths form the virus today.
Province-wide, 332 people are in hospital with COVID-19 and 102 people are in intensive care units.
Active cases have risen, again, to 9,574, with another 15,673 people in isolation after being exposed to someone with the virus.
A milestone for vaccines, though, as 1,025,000 vaccine doses now have been administered in this province. Those have gone to more than 937,000 people, and more than 78,000 vaccine doses were distributed in the past two days.
Today, vaccine appointments opened at select pharmacies in Kamloops for people aged 55-65 to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine. Nine pharmacies will be able to administer vaccines as of next week.
