Kamloops Mounties caught a driver who was over the limit and driving way over the limit on Sunday evening.
It happened just after 6 p.m., when a driver was caught going 64 kilometres over the speed limit on the Trans-Canada Highway, near the weigh scales west of Copperhead Drive.
Evelyn says a vehicle that matched the description came back on the highway is the opposite direction about 30 minutes later. She says he was pulled over and had his vehicle impounded for excessive speeding. He failed a breathalyzer test after that and was given a three-month driving ban and an extra one-month impoundment of his vehicle.
Editor’s Note: This story previously stated the impaired driver was travelling on the wrong side of the divided highway, when in fact the vehicle was on the opposite side of the highway from where the officer was running radar. This error has been corrected.
