Kamloops RCMP say a baby has been recovered after being taken out of hospital at a time when it put the child at risk of dying.

Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were notified just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning that the child was taken.

She says Mounties found and stopped the vehicle the child was travelling in, and offered medical assistance until Ambulance Crews arrived.

She says the baby is back in hospital receiving medical attention, and is in stable condition.

Further details of the incident are unclear, and Evelyn says more details will not be released.
