Kamloops RCMP say they’ve identified a suspect after a man was stabbed at the Star Lodge yesterday afternoon.
Just after 3:30 p.m. yesterday, a man in his 50s was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, though police say he was conscious and breathing at the time.
RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says the suspect and victim knew each other and they were involved in some sort of confrontation which led to the stabbing.
She adds police still want to hear from any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
“We always say to people if they have anything that stuck out in their mind to make a note of it while its fresh in their head because it might have some details that help police when police do come knocking on their door looking for some evidence or some witness statements,” Evelyn told NL News.
“We are asking anyone who was at the Star Lodge, walking in the area, or driving by and witnessed anything related to this incident to please contact police if you haven’t spoken to them already.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2021-12506.
