Kamloops RCMP say a local man with warrants out of Calgary was arrested in the city yesterday.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says a Kamloops RCMP officer was able to track down Rudy Gros Ventreboy, 43, who was taken into custody yesterday.
“[His] warrants were extended to western Canada with assistance from the Fugitive Return Program,” Evelyn said. “The warrants were related to failing to comply with a release order attached to a sexual assault charge.”
Evelyn says Ventreboy is currently in police custody, awaiting transport back to Alberta to answer to his charges.
