Kamloops RCMP are warning people about a dangerous sex offender who plans to live in the area.
Police say 61-year-old James Leo Gracie, who also goes by Finn McInnis, was released from prison after completing his Long Term Supervision Order on April 17.
Gracie has been convicted of sexual offences against children including sexual assault and forcible confinement.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says he is a high risk to re-offend, though there was no word specifying where in town Gracie plans to live.
She says RCMP issued the warning through a public interest notification under a section of the Privacy Act of Canada which says the public interest in the situation outweighs any invasion of privacy.
Gracie stands six-foot-two and has hazel eyes and brown hair. He also has tattoos reading “slimjim” and “rattlesnake” on his right arm, “heart leaves” on his left arm and a heart on his upper left arm.
