Tickets for the annual Y Dream Home Lottery in Kamloops go on sale tomorrow, May 4.
It is getting underway about a month later than normal due to the impact that COVID-19 had when it came to bringing in safety protocols while the house in Oak Hills was being built.
Organizers are expecting tickets to sell out quickly, like it has in previous years. Last year, it took 12 days to sell all of the tickets with the $700,000 home in Orchards Walk in Valleyview going to Nicole Larsen. In 2019, all tickets were sold within 10 days of it going on sale.
The Y Dream Home is the grand prize in the annual lottery that also features hundreds of other prizes, with the odds of winning any prize at 1 in 20. There is also a 50/50 draw with the pot being split between the winner and the Kamloops Y.
While ticket sales are beginning later than usual, the draw for the $720,000 home this year will still be held in early July.
