Kamloops RCMP say they seized a stolen license plate and several “high-end” tools during a traffic stop early this morning.

Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says an officer was alerted to a suspicious vehicle heading west on Valleyview Drive around 1:15 a.m. this morning. She says the vehicle did not have a license plate decal on it.

“Checks of the plate revealed it to be stolen,” Evelyn said. “The vehicle was stopped on Battle Street and during the course of the investigation, high-end tools were discovered in its trunk. The license plate and tools were seized.”

A Kamloops man was issued a ticket and the vehicle was impounded. Evelyn says he was released at the scene, pending further investigation.
