UPDATE: 1:15 p.m.
Kamloops RCMP say one person was arrested this morning after a heavy police presence at a home on the North Shore.
Police responded “as part of an investigation” to a home in the 400-block of Hilltop Avenue at about 10:30 a.m.
The response included Kamloops RCMP’s targeted enforcement unit and the Southeast District RCMP emergency response team, and a photo from the scene shows those units outside of a duplex on that street.
Const. Crystal Evelyn could not immediately provide further details of the situation or the person who was arrested.
Evelyn says the emergency response team had cleared the scene by 11 a.m., and says local RCMP are continuing to investigate.
The public had been asked to avoid that area when the larger police presence was at the scene earlier. Police had said there is no danger to the public.
