Kamloops RCMP say a man who lives in this area was killed when he was hit by a vehicle on Saturday morning.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says the accident happened in the westbound lanes on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Hillside Way overpass.
“Saturday, around 7:30 a.m., EHS called to report that a person had been hit by a vehicle. Police attended, unfortunately someone did pass away shortly after as a result of that collision. The highway was closed for several hours.”
DriveBC reported the highway reopened just after 3:30 p.m.
Evelyn says the driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
She says Mounties are still investigating why the crash happened.
