Homicide investigators have been called to the Fraser Canyon after a body was found just off Highway 1 yesterday afternoon.

RCMP say officers were called around 1:45 p.m. on May 26 where they found human remains, north of Yale.

“The area surrounding the scene remains cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is engaged and working in partnership with the Hope RCMP and BC Coroners Service,” RCMP said, in a statement.

Details are sparse, but police say they are currently gathering evidence.
