
B.C. health officials are reporting 148 new COVID-19 cases today along with three more deaths in the province.
There were 32 new cases in Interior Health, with 75 in Fraser Health, 23 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 10 on Vancouver Island, and eight in Northern Health.
Active cases have dropped again to 1,975 with 195 people in hospital, 47 in intensive care.
On the vaccine front, another 64,418 doses were administered taking the total in the province to 3,749,758 doses. There were another 44,756 second doses administered since yesterday, for a total of 390,264 second doses.
Health officials say it means 74.5 per cent of all adults and 72.4 per cent of people over the age of 12 have gotten one dose of a COVID vaccine.
“Canada has some of the highest Dose one immunization levels in the world and British Columbia is equally strong. We ask everyone to join us in continuing to push forward with our vaccine progress,” a statement from Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix said.
“As we progress towards step two of BC’s Restart plan, we can be assured we are on the right path, and with every person who is fully vaccinated, we are all safer. Let’s keep going and keep doing our part to put the pandemic behind us.”
As it stands, 142,106 people who tested positive for COVID-19 are considered to have recovered, about 97 per cent of the 145,843 cases in British Columbia.
