A crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Hillside Way on Sunday morning was caused by an impaired driver going the wrong way, according to police.
A closure was reported just after midnight on Sunday in the westbound lanes.
Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn says a vehicle was going east on the wrong side of the divided freeway. She says the driver hit a westbound vehicle with two occupants near the Hillside Way on ramp.
Evelyn says the driver who had been going the wrong way then failed a breathalyzer test, showing a blood alcohol level above .08.
The driver was given a 90-day driving ban and their vehicle was impounded.
Fortunately, police say no one was seriously injured in the accident.
