A COVID-19 exposure is being reported at Merritt Bench Elementary School.
Interior Health says the exposure happened on two days days last week, June 10 and 11. It is not yet clear how many people are impacted at this time.
There was also an additional exposure to COVID-19 at Merritt Central Elementary School, on June 9, 10, and 11. That’s after the original exposure on four days last week, June 1 to 4.
As has been the case, students and staff who may have been in direct contact with the person who tested positive for COVID-19 are being contacted by health and school officials with further instructions.
If you’ve not been contacted, health officials say it is still safe for your children to go to school as normal.
There are no active COVID exposures in Kamloops in the Kamloops-Thompson School District as of publishing, but there are eight in the Kelowna area and five in Vernon.
If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
