The BC Wildfire Service says a small wildfire near Tobiano is now under control.
It grew to 0.1 hectares in size and started at about noon, after a truck fire on the Trans-Canada Highway spread to the bush.
The truck fire happened in the eastbound lane of the highway near the Kamloops Lake lookout, at about 11:45 a.m. There were no reports of any injuries from that fire.
Fire information officer Taylor MacDonald says six wildfire personnel remain at the scene this hour mopping up hotspots. Tobiano Volunteer Fire Department members handled the truck blaze.
The highway was down to a single lane of traffic near the fire during the afternoon.
