A big day for Terry Gordon, who was the big winner in the 2021 Kamloops Y Dream Home lottery.
Gordon won the grand prize house on Elston Drive in Westsyde valued at $719,100.
“Together, we’ve operated two successful lotteries during some challenging times,” Lottery spokesperson Bryce Herman said. “This continues to be a good news story for Kamloops and for community spirit that exists time and time again.”
The other big winner was Lucas Leblanc, who took home $250,000 in the 50/50 draw.
Tickets for this year’s Y Dream Home lottery sold out in 52 hours, while the 50/50 sold out about 45 minutes later. Demand was so high, the website crashed minutes after sales began.
Last month, Herman apologized to 170 people who were still waiting to get a refund after they never got a ticket despite paying for one because of a processing error.
