The fire burning on Strawberry Hill in Kamloops is now estimated to be five hectares in size, and is out of control.
The BCC Wildfire Service gave that update early this afternoon, saying there are three wildfire service personnel on scene and one helicopter is bucketing water. Kamloops Fire Rescue is also monitoring that blaze.
The fire had started Thursday night and was caused by lightning, and flared up yesterday afternoon.
Crews also remain at the Kamloops East wildfire in Juniper Ridge, to put out hot spots.
That fire is now under control, and is mapped at 15 hectares in size
People in Kamloops can also resume regular watering and irrigation, the city says, with fewer firefighting resources needed to battle local blazes.
