Kamloops firefighters are responding to a two-storey house on fire at 1214 Columbia Street downtown.

A tower of thick black smoke can be seen in the sky across much of the city.

Reports are that it began as a landscape fire before flames spread to a deck at the house.

At this time, there is no word on any injuries.
