People looking for a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, or those who have waited a while for a second dose, can be vaccinated at a drop-in clinic in Brocklehurst, starting tomorrow.
Interior Health says the clinic will be set up at 1800 Tranquille Road – the Brock Shopping Centre- on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The clinic is open for all people aged 12 and older who either haven’t yet been vaccinated, or received their first dose more than 49 days ago.
As of Monday afternoon, there had been 124,527 total vaccine doses administered in Kamloops, including 77,436 first doses and 47,291 second doses.
As of July 8, on Thursday, the vaccination rate in Kamloops North was 72 per cent, while Kamloops South was at 80 per cent. The Lower Thompson – which includes Sun Peaks, Barriere, Little Fort, Chase, Logan Lake, Savona and other communities in between – had a vaccine rate of 70 per cent.
IH reminds Kamloops residents they can also get a first vaccine dose at the Tournament Capital Centre immunization clinic. The mass vaccine clinic at McArthur Island remains closed for now, as the building is being used by Emergency Social Services to assist wildfire evacuees.
