The owner of the Kamloops store where Gary Hill bought his $35-million winning lottery ticket is $35,000 richer today.
BCLC Territory Manager Kyleen Horodyski presented Sanjeev Aggerwal with a cheque this morning at McGoo’s Smokes N Stuff at the Northills Shopping Centre, where he has been selling lottery products for more than a decade.
The lottery corporation says this is second-largest prize given to a retailer as part of its seller’s prize program. It gives retailers who sell a winning ticket with a prize of over $10,000 a percentage of the winnings.
“I found out I sold the winning lottery ticket and I had goosebumps then and now even,” Aggerwal said, in a statement, noting he shared the news of Hill’s win with his children and employees.
Aggerwal plans to give some of his prize money to his family as well as his employees.
“We all won. If I win, my employees win… we are like a family,” he added.
